4. TROUBLESHOOTING
If a minor problem occurs, it usually can be solved quite easily when the cause is found by using the
checklist below.
Any other servicing should be done by an authorized service representative.
If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water,
take it to a service center prior to continuing use.

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE POSSIBLE SOLUTION
Vacuum cleaner
won’t pick up
1. The filters may be clogged
1. Refer to Maintenance section regarding the
filters - p. 9
2. The dirt cup is full or blocked. 2. Refer to Maintenance section regarding the
dirt cup - p. 8
3. Dirt cup may be incorrectly
installed.
3. Refer to Maintenance section regarding the
dirt cup - p. 8
Dust escaping
from the vacuum
1. The filters may not be
installed correctly.
1. Refer to Maintenance section regarding the
filters - p. 9
2. The dirt cup may be
incorrectly installed.
2. Remove the Dirt Cup from the unit by
pressing the Dirt Cup Release Button and
reattach it to the unit, ensuring it is locked
firmly back into place.

filters - p. 9
The vacuum
cleaner won’t run
1. It may not be plugged into the
electrical outlet correctly.
1. Ensure that the plug is pushed into the
electrical outlet securely.
2. The electrical outlet may not
be working.
2. Check the fuse or breaker in home. Replace
fuse/reset breaker in home or consult an
electrician.
3. The cleaner motor Thermal
Protector may have tripped.
3. Switch off and unplug the vacuum cleaner.
Leave for 30 minutes before switching the
vacuum cleaner back on.
Power nozzle
brushroll won’t
run
1. Hose power cord not firmly
plugged in.
1. Plug firmly into receptacle on cleaner base.
2. Broken or worn belt. 2. Replace belt.
3. Brushroll switch set to OFF. 3. Set Brushroll switch to “ON”.
4. The power nozzle motor
protector activated.

4b. Switch off and unplug the vacuum cleaner.
5. Brushroll jammed. 5. Refer to “Checking For and Clearing

Nozzle won’t pick
up
1. Blockage in nozzle connector. 1. Remove blockage.
2. Brushroll not running. 2. See section “Power nozzle brushroll won’t
run” above.
3. Brushroll brushes worn. 3. Replace brushes.
Accessories won’t
pick up properly
1. The accessory may be
blocked.
1. Refer to “Checking For and Clearing
Blockages” section, pg 11.
